Archie Vocal Music was proudly represented yesterday by sophomore AJ Ogle, who participated in the WCMMEA 9th–10th Grade Honor Choir in Oak Grove, MO. AJ spent the day alongside 158 outstanding singers from across west-central Missouri, rehearsing under the direction of a guest clinician to prepare a concert in just one day! Repost from the Drexel and Archie Police Departments: Community Alert: This morning, Sgt Metcalf was contacted at the school by a parent who reported the following: In the past week, their children have twice been approached by an individual asking if they had “seen his dog.” The first incident occurred while children were walking home from school. The 2nd incident occurred at the park next to the community building. The individual is described as being a white male, dark hair, with glasses. Older white vehicle, unknown make or model. Possibly a 4-door. Please talk to your children about talking to strangers, and make sure they are walking in groups. If you see such an individual, please dial 911 so that we have an opportunity to potentially identify this individual and assist them if need be.

STUCO is brewing up a frightfully fun new tradition — Haunted Hallways! The week of Halloween, our high schoolers will transform the halls into a ghoulishly delightful spectacle during their privilege time — think spooky doors, eerie lights, and cobwebs galore. Then, on October 31st, our trick-or-treaters from elementary will be invited to creep down the haunted hallway for some sweet scares and treats! But we need your help! If you have any Halloween decorations or candy you'd like to donate to our cause, we'd be eternally grateful (insert vampire laugh). Donations can be dropped off in the front office anytime before October 29th. Thanks! STUCO.

Red Ribbon Week: October 21st–24th Archie School District will celebrate with special dress-up days all week!
What is Red Ribbon Week? Red Ribbon Week is a fun and meaningful opportunity to talk with students about making healthy, safe choices.
In the United States, the red ribbon symbolizes a commitment to living drug-free. The campaign began in memory of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, who was tragically killed in 1985. Each year, communities across the country wear red ribbons to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to promote prevention and healthy living.

English I and II students wrap up Quarter 1 Independent Reading by reading outside on this beautiful fall day. Students appreciate the extra reading time to really dig into their books, especially those who have just started their second (or third or fourth!) book of the school year!
