Members of the Archie FFA left bright and early yesterday morning to head to Indianapolis, Indiana for National FFA Convention. On the way to Indy we stopped and toured Bayer Crop Science where we got to learn how the advancements in plant genetics are helping farmers do more with less. Members also got a look into what plant geneticists do by extracting embryos from Corn 🌽
The Archie Lady Whirlwinds got a first round win tonight in the district tournament! They will be back in action tomorrow at Archie at 5:30 p.m. We also celebrated some records tonight...Elsie Parsons earned her 500th career dig and Madison Wilson achieved her 500th dig and 1500th career assist.

Mrs. Stidham’s Junior High Novel Studies class took advantage of the beautiful weather today and enjoyed Jackson’s outdoor classroom while reading the first chapter of The Giver!

JH football season came to an end tonight at Midway. They battled until the end, but came up just short.

Choir members Avery Brown and Kailee Ruby represented the Archie music department this weekend at the annual West Central 9/10th Grade Honor Choir in Oak Grove, MO. Here, outstanding choir students from all over the district met with their clinician, Dr. Jordan Cox, to rehearse his chosen musical repertoire themed around "light". These student musicians spent time growing as choral singers by experiencing high level musicianship and ended the day with a concert to showcase their hard work! Bravo, Avery and Kailee!🌪️🎶
Students in Ms. Wilkison's Introduction to Physics and Chemistry classes completed a Density Layering Lab last week. Students worked to calculated the densities of 4 unknown solutions and then layered them in a testtube by density. The densities were VERY close together so students had to be very careful. The results were outstanding!

Reminder for Alumni Night practice and performance this week!
If you signed up for Alumni Night, we will have one practice on Thursday the 22nd of October from 5:15-6:00pm at the football field! Our performance will be during halftime of the game on Friday the 23rd of October.

The Whirlwind Marching Band performed at the UCM Homecoming Parade. They performed well! This was the last parade for this year, please come out to the football game Friday night to support the football team, the cheer team, the band, and our seniors for senior night!

Mrs. Heston's Humanities class worked with the Archie Food Pantry and passed out the Harvesters bags to elementary classrooms today. #Archie Strong
Mrs. Kara's preschool classes had fun with pumpkins this week! They learned about pumpkins' shape and texture and discovered what's inside. They also got to hammer and remove pegs from pumpkins to work on fine motor skills.

The Archie FFA Trapshooting Teams finished their Fall League on Wednesday. Archie A finished 5th in the league and Archie B ended 13th. Congratulations to Brecklen Marcks for being the 8th high individual for the league! Thank you to our Senior Members Chase Kendrick and Carson Houchen for a great last season.
